FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What about bad weather on the day of my tour?

Although we can't control the weather. Our adventures are all about you and we will not send our boat out in weather that jeopardizes safety or the experience of the guests. We check with local posted marine weather conditions to make a well educated decision and if weather presents itself immediately before a trip we will cancel or reschedule the tour. It can be raining hard where you are, yet sunny and calm at the dock and our destinations. We have frequent passing showers that turn to clear skies in short order. Cancellations due to weather are at the discretion of the boat captain, but a light shower is not a deterrent. In the event that the conditions are unsafe to operate, you will be given the option to re-schedule or cancel with a full refund. All of our destinations are weather permitting. If we have not called you, please show up at the dock with expectations to go out.

  • I've never snorkeled before, is this something I can do?

YES, Definitely! Our experienced and certified YOLO crew will give you detailed instructions as your headed to the snorkeling site. They will go over the best practices and safe snorkel procedures for your day at the reef. Additionally, a crew member will be in the water with you for hands on assistance. All you do to snorkel is float on the surface and look down at the beauty below. You might be surprised at how buoyant you are in salt water. It's quite different than a lake or a pool. We also have plenty of flotation devices such as life jackets, and life rings for extra flotation to put you at ease so that you can enjoy the view. Standing on the ladder is a great place to start. Once you feel comfortable, you can paddle off.

  • Is it secure to make a reservation on your website?

YES. Your personal and credit card information is secure with us and our website.

  • Am I likely to get seasick?

It is very unlikely that you will get seasick. Our boat is very stable and the water stays calm inside of the reef. However, in windy or high traffic days it can get a little bumpy at times. During all of our tours we stay within the reef. What does this mean? The reef breaks the waves coming in and inside the reef the wave are only 1 foot or smaller. Our boat is very smooth..

  • How long is the snorkeling trip and how much time do we spend snorkeling?

Total time is between 6 to 7 hours.  The amount of time snorkeling depends on which tour you select.

  • Do you pick us up at our hotel or private house?

YOLO & YOLITO is the only vessels we operate so we do not offer pick up/drop offs on our public/private cruises. In addition; our dock is specifically designed to ensure guest comfort and safety when boarding and disembarking. Unfortunately we do not offer any pick up/ drop offs, because there would be too many stops to pick up/ drop off everyone on their designated dock.

  • What time is check in for the snorkeling and sunset cruises?

Check in is 30 minutes before departure for all tours. Especially for sunset cruises during the winter months as we do not observe daylight savings time here in Belize. So the sun sets quickly and early during the winter so we want all guests to be at our dock 30 minutes prior to departure time as we do depart promptly or early if possible.
